Nkem- Michelle Okolo is a corporate marketing professional, wife and mother of 5 children that has an undying passion for writing.  However, what is even more powerful than her natural gift of writing is her love for people from all backgrounds around the world  but especially women and children. She writes:

“Despite graduating from college with a biology degree from an engineering university, as a young girl, I always loved theater, probably because it afforded me the opportunity to create a picture perfect world with others. On stage I could be whomever I wanted to be and enjoyed the people I journeyed the scenes with.  However, the truth is that the real world is very different.   Through trials and victories, I learned as a young adult that life doesn’t always turn out how we plan it or even how we work at it.  Life just happens.”

Born into a royal family on my mother’s side (my great-grandmother was the queen of my town in mid-western Nigeria),  Secrets of a Queen was birthed out of a desire to help women from all backgrounds (including myself) journey through life a little easier.  Like a queen rules her kingdom with wisdom, beauty and grace, so also can all women if we share the secrets to our successes in life with each  other.

When I look back at my upbringing, I am thankful that my mother shared a lot of real-world advise with me which still helps me today. However, there are many others she didn’t that I wish I’d known. Perhaps she just didn’t know the answers. Or maybe she was uncomfortable discussing them with me.

Either way, the purpose of this platform is to be that whisper of a mother, a sister, a friend, a mentor, a spiritual advisor, someone that shares real life secrets to help build real life queens and help make the journey through life a little easier. And in so doing, we can walk on the stage of life with the grace and beauty of a queen.

Please join me on this journey. I look forward to our sharing life’s secrets to success with each other.  Royal blessings my fellow queens (and kings- we don’t discriminate :).

XOXO
